Not the best but does its job
I love sunbathing but my fair skin peels fairly quickly so I like adding self-tanners into after sun products. To be honest, I used this for both face and body. I know that the recommendation is to put it directly on skin but I prefer adding it to products. It works well directly on skin as well. For me the smell was absolutely fine, no fake tan smell noted. It provided such beautiful extra color to my slightly tanned skin, loved the result so much. But due to its consistency, you have to add more drops compared to another Isle of paradise tanning drops product.

Very natural tan
I’ve repurchased this a couple of times now, really impressed with it. Feels fresh to use, it’s hydrating and the gradual tan is perfectly subtle. I only use it in the mornings as I don’t want too much colour. You should really wash hands after or you might notice tanned palms overtime, but it’s not too extreme. Really good price point compared to similar products

Overpowering scent
I’ve tried a few tanning products from this range and have liked most but sadly this isn’t one. I found the scent very overpowering to start with and after a few build up uses I felt it slightly irritated my skin …a few spots. I didn’t think it tanned that nicely either. Defo do a patch test. Wouldn’t recommend.

broke me out!
Yeah, definitely patch test this. My face/neck broke out SO bad in tiny red bumps. My face felt like sandpaper, it was so sad. Fortunately, I reduced my skincare to the essentials and used hydrocortisone cream, and it healed in a few days. I used the spray on my legs/body from the same brand with no issue, so not sure why this did that.

Not as good as the drops
I purchased this because I find the tan drops to be really effective but you do get a bit of a build up which can be hard to remove. I thought the serum would be effective for ordinary day wear but I’m not convinced by this product and I wondered if it was giving me spots as it was the only new product I could attribute to tiny spots I was getting. Maybe you need to persevere with this but I will be sticking to the tan drops which I like mixing with moisturiser or foundation.
