GRAINSCO Joins at the 69th PHILSUTECH ANNUAL NATIONAL CONVENTION.

In an effort to encourage Sugarcane Trash Baling in the Philippines, GRAINSCO and CLAAS will participate in the Philsutech Annual Convention on August 22–25, 2023, at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines.

It is undeniable that agricultural burning is a major contributor to the air pollution problem. Yet farmers options to collect crop residue are limited. With this in mind, the CLAAS QUADRANT offers farmers an economical alternative to baling sugar cane leaves and avoiding open field burning.

GRAINSCO held a product demonstration in the province of Ifugao. Farmers and agricultural professionals were invited to witness the efficiency and power of our very own Lovol RG108 PLUS Harvester. The GRAINSCO Team distributed brochures, hosted seminars, and built relationships with participants, promising to be their partner in further innovating and strengthening the province’s agriculture economy.

GRAINSCO will be one of the major exhibitors at the 2023 edition of AgriLink, FoodLink, AquaLink — the Philippines’ premier trade exhibition on agriculture, food, aquaculture, and agribusiness. Agrilink2023 is slated from October 5 to 7 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

AgriLink2023 will highlight the dynamic mango sector, including social and environmental risks as well as the emerging opportunities that can be tapped to transform the sector into a more lucrative venture for our farmers. For its regional focus, AgriLink 2023 will home in on the Ilocos Region, comprising Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. Region 1 is currently the biggest producer of mangoes in the Philippines, with its mangoes exported worldwide and distributed for local consumption and processing across the country.

The benefits of the BAUER Rainstars are also appreciated on the islands of the Philippines. In the province of Isabela, they have been responsible for significantly increasing yields on the Aurora farm for three years.

Isabela in the north of the main island of Luzon is the second largest province in the country. There Richard Tan, owner of the farm Aurora Premium Cattle Inc., decided to purchase three Rainstars T32 during the pandemic period. If the will is strong enough, there is always a way: From the first customer contact to the instructions for installing the machines, everything was successfully handled digitally – under the leadership of Joel Chan, Managing Director of the BAUER dealership GRAINSCO in Manila.

Aurora Premium Cattle Inc. is home to 1200 cattle – all Brahman (and Brahman crosses) cattle originating from Australia. The farm’s owner, Richard Tan, is also President of the Isabela Suerte Rice Mill Corporation, the largest and most modern rice mill in the Philippines. Rice, sugar cane and corn are among the main crops on the island archipelago, where almost half of the area is used for agriculture.

Corn is also grown on the 60 hectare Aurora farm, and the three BAUER Rainstars 75300 T32 are responsible for the irrigation. The soils are mostly sandy and loamy and require a precipitation rate of around 10 to 25 mm depending on the growth phase of the plants. The three machines are used for 10 to 12 consecutive days and run day and night. The Rainstars are fed by the proven BAUER FAMOS water pumps.

Three corn harvests despite the high temperatures After the harvest, the corn plant is preserved as silage and fed to the farm’s own cattle. Three harvests per year are common: one in the dry season (January to March), one in the rainy season (June to October) and one in between. Irrigation is essential, especially for the first two harvests: In the months from January to May it is very dry and hot. Temperatures can often reach 40 degrees Celsius. The farm operators are now happy about a significant reduction in workload: The Rainstar T32 is more efficient than simple surface irrigation because it can irrigate a larger area in a short time. In addition, it is easy to operate and easy to transport from field to field.

If you ask farm manager Alejandro Charlito what he thinks of the BAUER Rainstars, he really gets into raptures: “Since we’ve been using the Tmachines, the plants are much stronger and grow more evenly. Yields are up to 40 percent higher than before when we irrigated with flooding.”

Representatives from Grains Innovation and Solutions Co. Inc., led by Mr. Marwin Animo gave basic orientation and demonstration on drone operation to the participants of the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 103 for Rice being held at the Sto. Nino, New Clarin Communal Irrigators Association located in Bansalan, Davao del Sur. Also present during the said activities were Municipal Councilor Ponciano Salazar, Municipal Agriculturist Zaldy Zumangil, and New Clarin Barangay Captain Gamil Portarcos.

Drone operation is one of the topics of the DFP 103 for Rice which aims to introduce farmers to the advantages of using drone technology in rice farming. By implementing drones, farmers can improve their crop yields and efficiency while also reducing labor costs.
